The Festivity of MFC 2024 The Magnificent of Arema

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) - The festivity and splendor of Malang Flower Carnival (MFC) 2024 greeted the citizens of Malang City. Different from the previous year's organization, one of the largest flower costume carnivals in Indonesia this time was held from the courtyard of Malang City Hall to along Jalan Kartanegara, Sunday (25/8/2024).

Founder of Malang Flower Carnival Agus Sunandar said, in 2024 MFC raised the theme 'The Magnificent of Arema'. The selection of the theme represents the spirit of the citizens of Malang City, which according to him is very extraordinary. He added, this spirit has become an identity for the citizens of Malang City itself in various aspects.

“Arema also stands for Arek Malang. That is a very strong spirit as a Malang person, which is related to cultural and social issues that are very thick, especially Arema as a Malang City football club that also illustrates the spirit. It is deply rooted in the soul of the people of Malang City. This is what we want to raise, especially to the values of a very good fighting spirit,” he said.

Agus mentioned that the journey of organizing MFC 2024 was not an instant thing, and had been going on since the beginning of the year. Starting with the socialization of the organizers, workshops to find suitable themes, then socialization to the community, launching, modeling competitions and the core event of the MFC grand show itself. Not only was MFC 2024 followed by residents of Malang City, it was also enlivened by participants from out of town, ranging from Pasuruan, Blitar, to Bali.

Agus explained that the extraordinary enthusiasm for organizing this event is proof that Malang City has exceptional potential in fashion development, especially in Indonesia. According to him, Malang City, which is supported by various sectors, is one of Indonesia's fashion development points..

““We are aware that several ecosystems have developed in Malang City, starting with the actors, the industry ranging from MSMEs to large ones, and education ranging from vocational schools to universities where there are fashion majors, including professional associations. Therefore, I believe the potential is exceptional. I believe that in the future Malang can become the center of fashion in Indonesia,” he said again.

Meanwhile, Acting (Pj.) Mayor of Malang, Iwan Kurniawan ST, MM who was present to open MFC 2024 expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the MFC 2024 event. Iwan on this occasion also appeared in a costume defile with Pj. Head of TP PKK Malang City Septiana Iwan Kurniawan along with Forkopimda ranks and greeted the public along the carnival route.

“I express my gratitude to all the stakeholders who have participated in the MFC with the theme of The Magnificent of Arema. The individuals who witnessed this event displayed an exceptional response and enthusiasm. This year is the fourteenth time it has been done, and earlier we saw that the interest from the community who wanted to hold this event was also great,” he said.

Iwan said that with the immense enthusiasm exhibited by the community towards the organization of this event, he hopes that MFC will continue to take place and become an annual agenda that is routinely carried out every year. According to him, organizing MFC can provide a multiplier effect for Malang City, particularly on economic growth. Therefore, as a form of Malang City Government (Pemkot) service in order to provide entertainment while increasing the tourism sector in Malang City, he is committed to providing support.

“This is a form of government providing services within the framework of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, with an atmosphere full of joy.
